Hanami-koji Dori GION is one of my fave streets in Kyoto. This is where you can find Machiya (Japanese style townhouse) which are commonly used as tea house. And most importantly, Gion known for the area of Geisha/Geiko.

Geisha and her apprentice (Maiko) will show up around 5-6 pm everyday. It's when they start to work.
Tourists and photographers gather around the street to capture Geisha and Maiko while they're walking fastly to work in of the Machiya to serve their clients.
