Panjat Pinang is a very unique way of celebrating Indonesia's Independence Day. Panjat pinang requires chopping down a tall nut-tree and affixing a large circular wheel to one end. Prizes are then hung up from this wheel, including foods, drinks, clothing, electronics, and other useful items or small appliances.Since no one person is able to climb their way to the top and retrieve the prizes the participants divide into teams of 5-7 people, depending on the height of the tree. I took this photo from the Kapuas river's restaurant boat on the picture I posted before.Sungai Kapuas (Kapuas River) divides Pontianak into two different sides. Get a boat ride along the river about 5-6pm local time and you will see amazing view along this river. #Kapuas #river #Pontianak #Kalimantan #WestBorneo #KalimantanBarat #restaurant #cafe #bench #kulineran #culinary #kuliner #wonderfulIndonesia #PesonaIndonesia #pesonaPontianak #pesonaKhatulistiwa #tourism #Indonesiaonly #view #travel #traveling #traveler #ootd #tshirt #sandals #bag #Clozetteambassador #ClozetteID @clozetteID
