This story began when I was arrived in Bali quite late. Almost mid night at that moment. As always, another story and experience shared with the driver. ..How long you’ll spend holiday in Bali, miss? asked the driver. Lets called the driver Pak Tarmiji. I just put simple smile on my face, “Long enough for work.” I replied.“Oh, I thought you are on holiday. Was, so lucky to have a job like you. Can traveling everywhere.”Now, I put artificial smile, may be to tired. “I should. Most people say similar thing like you did.” sighed me with big smile. Now truly smile from my heart, “But sometimes I’m pretty tired and want to stop at some place. Some point. Keep moving constantly are tiring, pak.”“I wish I have a job like you, miss. Because still good lah. You can enjoy the city, take a selfie, going overseas. You must have a good position in company” he responded while took my big-5 babies-sized luggage into the car. I giggled. “Pak, mostly if the schedule pretty tight, hotel room or airbnb place become my office space and locked me inside.” I paused, “Or, sometimes airport is like second home if I may say.” I closed my eyes, it was a long day to get me to Bali. Bloody traffic in Jakarta.He drove the car. Played music and adjusting the volume. “Pak Tarmiji, besides work as online driver, what do you do?”Pak Tarmiji responded with big smiling from front mirror of the car, “Nganu, mbak. Just driver.” Heard is accent makes me realised he must be not Balinese, “Where do you come from originally, pak?”“Cirebon, mbak.” “Wah, good culinary!”“Been to Cirebon, mbak?” “yes, once.” My eyes caught the calm and some cars on the main road. I love night time, empty, not much people and vehicles.
