𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙓𝙞 𝙁𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙞 𝙓𝙞 𝙉𝙞𝙚𝙣 𝙆𝙝𝙪𝙖𝙞 𝙇𝙚. 𝙒𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙝𝙞 𝙍𝙞 𝙔𝙞!⁣⁣⁣⁣Ａ ｈｏｎｇｂａｏ ／ ａｎｇ ｐａｏ⁣⁣⁣⁣is a gift of money inserted into a red packet. Red is considered a symbol of luck, life and happiness. They are given as a token of good wishes.⁣⁣⁣⁣This one of a reason I miss Chinese New Year. 🧧 Not only that, but also I miss the preparation and hustle bustle of the menu we will have on CNY 6 months advance. Because my mom’s family is quite big. It’s our tradition, also she was the eldest, lot of menu. We used to cook 8-9 dishes for halal and non-halal. ⁣⁣⁣⁣She will so demanding and asked me a day before CNY, the first thing I need to get is 2 boxes of good mandarin orange. If you work for Chinese, you will notice for a month the office will smells orange everywhere. Because Mandarin orange is part of the lucky symbol. It’s common to give a box (which means 1kg) of mandarin orange as luck of wish.⁣⁣⁣⁣I miss the togetherness with the family member, the food, and of course... the red envelope. It’s not about how much money I will get. But its more like the excitement. Whatever our religion are, this CNY always a symbol of reunite the family. One day I’ve asked my mom when we didn’t have much money left, ‘Why we need to celebrate with lot of foods?’ She answered, ‘𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘊𝘕𝘠 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵!
